Philosophy - Microdelivery Peel

Happy New Year everyone!  I promise to be a little more consistent with my blog posts this year and I have decided to start off the year with a little beauty buzz!  I don't know why I waited so long to try this amazing product but I'm glad I finally did.

I found a microdermabrasion peel by Philosophy and I was instantly hooked.  I bought this little trial size set at Ulta a few months ago because I really wanted to give my skin a little pick me up.  I don't really have problematic skin but I do have the occasional break out.  I've always wanted to try a microdermabrasion procedure but I'm a bit scared because I do have extremely sensitive skin so I wanted to start off slow.  The 2 step exfoliation treatment is to resurface the skin by minimizing fine lines, pores and wrinkles.

So it has 2 ingredients and basically it is a two step process.  You start off by using the first product which is a little container filled with Vitamin C Peptide crystals.  It is a pale yellow scrub and it smells delicious.  You get a small portion that you rub into your skin by spreading it all over in a gentle circular motion.  The crystals are an exfoliant so don't over do it and be gentle so that you don't scratch or irritate your skin.  You spread it all over and leave it on for about 2 minutes.

Now you can proceed to Step 2....and you take the second product which is a little bottle of activating gel which is made of lactic/salicylic acid and you apply a sheer layer of this over the first product.  You will feel the gel start to activate and it gives you a slight tingling sensation.  It turns into this watery foam and that is how you know that the product is activating.  You do this in a gentle manner again so that you don't irritate or break your skin.  You leave this on for about one minute and then you can rinse off and wash your face.

Step 2

Lactic / Salicyclic Acid

I was amazed with the texture of my skin.  I don't think I've ever felt my skin this soft!  Hands down this is now my favorite because it took less than five minutes of my time and it did not break the bank!  I will continue to use it every once in a while when my skin is dry or not looking as bright as I want it to!  Remember that winter is harsh on our skin and we have to stay fully hydrated.  I feel like the cold weather makes me forget to reach for that water bottle but it is so essential.  Increasing your water intake will replenish all of your cells including the skin cells of course, and in return it will give us a plump and healthy smooth complexion.
